Who is the London Classical Choir for?

The London Classical Choir is for singers who already have some choral experience and would like to explore the classical repertoire in greater depth while performing to a high standard.

Do I need to audition?

No. There is no audition. The choir welcomes experienced singers and people with a good voice who are keen to develop their choral singing.

Do I need to read music?

Being able to read music is helpful but not essential. Singers who learn harmonies quickly by ear are also welcome.

What music does the London Classical Choir perform?

The choir performs major classical choral works with the London Classical Orchestra, alongside themed programmes and concerts featuring music from a wide range of composers and periods.

When does the choir rehearse?

The London Classical Choir rehearses on two Friday evenings each month at venues close to Chalk Farm Underground station.

Are there opportunities to perform solos?

Yes. Experienced singers have regular opportunities to perform solo roles and solo passages in concerts.

What performances does the choir give?

The choir performs major choral works with the London Classical Orchestra, charity concerts including the Concert for the Homeless, and joint concerts with the Primrose Hill Choirs.

LCC is a friendly, multi-cultural bunch of about thirty singers of all ages, who enjoy performing great music to a high standard. We sing major choral works with the London Classical Orchestra to raise money for homeless charities. There are two Friday evening rehearsals per month, taking place near Chalk Farm tube. Although most of our members are experienced choral singers we also welcome people with good voices who are new to choral singing but are keen to learn. Being able to read music helps, but if you pick up harmonies quickly by ear you would also be welcome. For experienced singers we offer regular opportunities to sing solos.
